Support for Quebec sovereignty has dropped to 29%, the lowest level recorded, due to increased Canadian unity in response to Trump's threats of tariffs and annexation. The Parti Quebecois (PQ), which focuses on sovereignty, is struggling as Quebecers rally against these external threats. Despite this, PQ leader St-Pierre Plamondon remains committed to holding a referendum. Quebec Premier Francois Legault opposes preparing for a referendum now, while the PQ argues Quebec would better defend its interests independently. Support for sovereignty might rebound if Quebecers feel Ottawa isn't addressing their concerns.
