President Claudia Sheinbaum’s approval rating has reached 80%, according to a recent El Universal poll, up from 77% in January and 74% in November. Her strong defense of Mexico against threats from the U.S. administration, including a one-month postponement of U.S. actions, has contributed to her rising popularity. When asked about the worst thing she has done, 75% of respondents said nothing, while 14% cited public security as the main concern. Her support is particularly high among students, southern Mexicans, and younger voters.
