Alan Harbottle, a former primary school teacher at Mosspits Primary School, was permanently banned from teaching after being convicted of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child. He was caught in a police sting where he communicated online with undercover officers posing as a 14-year-old boy. He was dismissed from his position and a teacher regulation agency panel deemed his actions severe enough to prohibit him from teaching indefinitely.
