MIT Professor Emeritus Earle Lomon, a nuclear theorist, died on March 7, 2025, at 94. Lomon, who earned his PhD from MIT in 1954, focused on hadron interactions and developed an R-matrix formulation of scattering theory. He was a faculty member at MIT for nearly 40 years and an affiliate researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory for almost 50 years.
