PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) is committed to supporting national food security by ensuring the availability of subsidized fertilizers. As of February 20, 2025, the company has stockpiled 265,009 tons of subsidized fertilizers. Pupuk Kaltim, the largest producer of urea in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, aims to produce 6.425.000 tons of fertilizers in 2025, including 3.430.000 tons of urea, 285.000 tons of NPK, and 2.710.000 tons of ammonia. The company is responsible for distributing fertilizers to Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and Nusa Tenggara, with a focus on ensuring easy access for farmers. Additionally, Pupuk Kaltim is expanding its industrial capabilities with plans to build a soda ash plant in Bontang, Kalimantan Timur, to support the national petrochemical industry and reduce reliance on imports.
