Radu Jude won the Silver Bear for Best Screenplay at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival for his film *Kontinental '25*, which explored the moral crisis of a judicial executioner following an eviction that led to a suicide. The low-budget film, shot in ten days using a smartphone, was also in competition for the Golden Bear. Jude dedicated the award to Luis Buñuel, acknowledging his influence, and humorously remarked on his screenwriting skills. The Golden Bear was awarded to the Norwegian film *Dreams (Sex Love)*, while Fan Bingbing received the Silver Bear for Best Actress for *The Blue Trail*.
