Rapper A$AP Rocky found not guilty in Los Angeles felony assault trial

A jury returned the verdict on Tuesday afternoon after deliberating for just three hours

A$AP Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, was acquitted of two felony assault charges in Los Angeles after being accused of firing a gun at his former friend, A$AP Relli, in Hollywood on November 6, 2021. Prosecutors alleged he fired twice, but the defense argued he used blanks from a prop gun. Rocky's partner, Rihanna, attended the trial and brought their twin toddlers to the closing arguments. Upon acquittal, she cried and hugged the defense team. The defense lawyer highlighted Rocky's positive standing in LA. The verdict allows Rocky to proceed with upcoming events, including headlining festivals and co-chairing the Met Gala.
