Red alert as cases of illness caught by UK holidaymakers soar

UK Health Security Agency chiefs said people should 'take precautions' against disease which can cause serious health problems



Dengue cases in UK travelers have surged to the highest level since 2009, primarily linked to travel in Southern and South-Eastern Asia, but also rising in European locations like Spain and Italy. Chikungunya and Zika virus cases have also increased. The UKHSA is implementing enhanced surveillance and advising travelers to take precautions against mosquito-borne infections and mpox.
