Remembering sculptor Armand LaMontagne, ‘our enduring star’ whose wooden sculpture work commemorated Boston’s sporting greats

Sculptor Armand LaMontagne, known for his wooden sculptures of Boston sports legends, passed away at 87. He was considered one of America's greatest wood portrait sculptors, with his works featured at The Sports Museum, including sculptures of Larry Bird and Bobby Orr. LaMontagne gained national recognition after creating a life-size sculpture of Ted Williams for the Baseball Hall of Fame.
