One of Toronto's best pizza places has abruptly closed its doors
A Toronto pizza restaurant that's held court on one of the city's most popular streets for almost a decade has inexplicably closed its doors.The debate surrounding where, exactly, serves the best pizza in Toronto is about as contentious as that of who makes the best Jamaican patties or whether the Leafs will ever win the Stanley Cup, but a few standouts seem to score a place on almost everyone's list.There's Badiali, of course, as well as Mac's Pizza, Maker, Blondies, and North of Brooklyn, all names that regularly populate the "best pizza in Toronto" lexicon. There's also, nestled in a faux-dingy space on Ossington, the much-loved Superpoint.Founded by Jesse Fader and Jonny Poon, the team behind the now-defunct Bar Fancy, among a slew of other projects that include Extra Burger, Nice Nice, Paris Paris and, most recently for Poon, Taberna Lx, Superpoint instantly solidified its spot among the thin-crusted heavy hitters of the city.Loc...
