Residents are evacuated from their homes after huge sinkhole swallows part of high street

Residents in Surrey were evacuated after a sinkhole measuring at least 19 meters long and 3 meters wide appeared on Godstone High Street. The sinkhole, caused by a burst water main, led to road closures between Oxted Road and Bletchingley Road. Some buildings were evacuated, and water supplies were disrupted for affected homes. SES Water confirmed ongoing repairs and advised residents to avoid the area, with bottled water being delivered to those in need.
