The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) criticizes the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, stating that none of the constitutional conditions for such a declaration (war, breakdown of order, etc.) exist. The NEF urges the president to resolve the political crisis, lift the suspensions of state officials, and prevent similar escalations in other states like Kano.
