Compania Romgaz vrea să se extindă pe piața îngrășămintelor chimice prin cumpărarea celui mai mare producător din țara noastră, Azomureș.
Romgaz, a Romanian energy company, aims to expand into the chemical fertilizers market by acquiring Azomureș, the largest fertilizer producer in Romania. This move is part of Romgaz's strategy to capitalize on Romania's upcoming natural gas extraction from the Black Sea starting in 2027, as part of the Nepttun Deep project. The acquisition would enable Romgaz to meet domestic fertilizer demand and potentially export surplus production. Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu has expressed support for the deal, emphasizing its benefits for Romanian agriculture. Romgaz is currently in the early stages of evaluating the acquisition, including technical, environmental, and feasibility studies, while ensuring compliance with EU regulations. The acquisition would align with Romgaz's long-term business plan, which includes significant capital expenditures and debt considerations. Azomureș, currently owned by Ameropa Holding since 2012, operates a large industrial complex with an annual production capacity of 1.8 million tons of various fertilizers.
