Alberta, Edmonton, and Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG) reached a tentative $250 million deal for a new event park downtown, with funding from the province ($97 million), the city ($69 million), and OEG ($84 million). Premier Smith calls the deal "transformative" and "ruthlessly fair" to both Edmonton and Calgary, addressing Edmonton's prior concerns about funding equity. The deal follows lobbying efforts by both OEG and the City of Edmonton. Final plans are expected by August.
