Saskatchewan Premier Moe travelling to Washington again to push against tariff threat
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe is traveling to Washington, D.C., with a delegation of business leaders to oppose U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods. This is his second visit this month, aiming to reduce tensions over the proposed tariffs. President Trump has announced 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum, with potential further tariffs. Saskatchewan exported $26 billion in goods to the U.S. in 2018. The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce highlights the economic impact of tariffs and the importance of Saskatchewan uranium for U.S. energy. Agriculture Minister Daryl Harrison is also in Washington to promote Saskatchewan's agricultural sector.
