Second man remanded in custody over fatal stabbing outside Dublin nightclub

Three men arrested over death of Nigerian asylum seeker Quham Babatunde



A second man, Rory Carr (21), has been remanded in custody in connection with the fatal stabbing of Quham Babatunde, an asylum seeker, outside a Dublin nightclub. Carr appeared before Judge Paula Murphy at Dublin District Court and was charged with assault causing harm to Babatunde and another man, Adetola Adetuilehim. Carr was remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court next Wednesday. Earlier, Jeffrey Bangu (21) was also remanded in custody over the same matter. A third suspect, a 23-year-old man, was arrested by the PSNI in Belfast and remains in custody. Babatunde, 34, originally from Nigeria, was fatally injured during a row between two groups attending a music event. He had been living in a Ballyogan accommodation center while awaiting the outcome of his asylum application.
