Abbas Tajudeen, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, highlighted the importance of the Nigerian Security and Intelligence Trust Fund bill during a public hearing. The bill aims to address funding gaps for security agencies, enhancing their capacity through improved intelligence, training, and equipment to tackle security challenges. Tajudeen emphasized the need to avoid duplicating roles of existing agencies to prevent new issues. Ahmed Satomi, the committee chairman, added that the fund will support training, state-of-the-art equipment, infrastructure, and research to align Nigerian security agencies with global standards.
