Slot said to have told referee Oliver: ‘If we don’t win the league, I’ll blame you’

Arne Slot, Liverpool's head coach, allegedly told referee Michael Oliver, "If we don’t win the league, I’ll fucking blame you," after Liverpool's 2-2 draw with Everton on 12 February. Slot received a two-match touchline ban, reduced from three, for his confrontational and aggressive behavior, including shaking Oliver's hand while using abusive language. Slot denied some of the alleged language but admitted to others. His assistant, Sipke Hulshoff, also received a two-match ban for aggressive behavior. Slot was fined £70,000, and Hulshoff £7,000.
