In 2024, Nigeria's solid minerals sector contributed N1.39tn to the GDP, a 21% decrease from N1.76tn in 2023. While the sector's contribution to the fourth quarter GDP was 6.33% (higher than 2023's 4.47%), the overall year-on-year contribution fell by N370bn. The sector grew by 4.85% in 2024 compared to -2.84% in 2023, contributing 5.64% to the aggregate GDP in 2024 versus 5.56% in 2023.
