South Korean fighter mistakenly drops bomb near North Korean border, injuring 8 people

The air force said the fighter jets were taking part in the one-day firing drill with the U.S. military in Pocheon, a city close to the heavily armed border with North Korea

During a joint military drill with the U.S. near the North Korean border in Pocheon, South Korean KF-16 fighter jets mistakenly dropped eight MK-82 bombs on a civilian area, injuring eight people. The air force attributed the incident to a pilot entering incorrect coordinates. An investigation is underway and live-fire drills have been suspended nationwide.
