Subway boss Deniz Safa suggested some British customers appear increasingly interested in baked potatoes
Subway UK is introducing "Spudway" jacket potatoes in 170 branches as part of a trial from mid-March to mid-April. The menu includes fillings like cheese, beans, tuna mayo, chicken tikka, and taco beef, with options to add regular Subway toppings such as meatball marinara. Made with British ingredients, the offering reflects a shift in consumer demand, as jacket potatoes gain popularity and are seen as a cost-effective alternative to other meals. If successful, Subway plans a nationwide rollout later this year.
