Boy, 16, killed in horror shooting in Stockwell’s Paradise Road on Tuesday afternoon
A 16-year-old boy, Lathaniel Burrell, was shot dead in Stockwell, south London, by gunmen on a moped dressed as Deliveroo drivers. The incident occurred in broad daylight near Stockwell Tube station on Tuesday afternoon. Police and paramedics were called to Paradise Road at 3:21 pm, but the boy could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. Lathaniel’s family described him as a “very bright” schoolboy. Eyewitnesses reported that the gunman targeted Lathaniel after he and another boy came down stairs, with the other boy fleeing as the gunman sped away. Scotland Yard is investigating the case and urging witnesses to contact them. London Mayor Sadiq Khan and Lambeth Council expressed sympathy for the family and community.
