Tens of thousands of Toyota vehicles recalled in Canada for 'increased risk of crash'

Toyota has issued a new recall in Canada, citing safety concerns that a defect could increase the risk of a crash.In a statement first posted on Oct. 1, Transport Canada said that 32,733 Toyota vehicles are affected by a nationwide recall due to an issue with the visual system."Under certain conditions, a problem with the rearview camera could cause the rearview camera image not to display correctly or at all," states the recall. "Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing."According to Transport Canada, a malfunctioning rearview camera image that fails to display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up."This could increase the risk of a crash," reads the statement.The recall impacts two types of Toyota vehicles: the Sequoia and Tundra.
