Tesla sales plunge 42% in Europe and market share continues to shrink amid fallout over Elon Musk's support for hard

Tesla's market share in Europe continued to shrink year-on-year in February, as sales dropped for a second consecutive month despite rising overall EV registrations on the continent.

Tesla's European sales plunged 42.6% year-to-date, with market share shrinking from 2.8% to 1.8% overall, and from 21.6% to 10.3% in the BEV market. This decline occurs despite overall BEV sales in Europe rising. Elon Musk's association with hard-right parties is cited as a contributing factor. While Tesla's sales decline, other brands like Volkswagen and Renault saw increases, and Chinese brands are gaining market share.
