The BRIT Awards breakout artists you've probably never heard of from the Rising Star Award winner to a TikTok

While the nominations list is full of familiar names who have dominated the radio this year, there are also some lesser known artists who are just breaking out into the world of fame.

The 2025 BRIT Awards are set to return to London's O2 Arena, with a mix of familiar names and rising stars nominated across various categories. Among the lesser-known artists making waves are Myles Smith, a 26-year-old British singer-songwriter who will receive the Rising Star Award. Smith, who taught himself to play guitar and piano, gained fame through TikTok covers and his hit song "Stargazing," which has amassed over 550 million streams. Lola Young, a 24-year-old artist with a rare schizoaffective disorder, achieved viral success with her TikTok hit "Messy," becoming the youngest British female artist to score a solo number-one single since Dua Lipa in 2017. Elmiene, a 23-year-old soul singer, and musical duo Good Neighbours are also nominated in the Rising Star category. Elmiene, who recently moved to London after completing his music degree, has gained recognition for his soulful sound. Good Neighbours, known for their indie-pop style, have also garnered attention. Tommy Richman, though less recognized by name, has seen success with his song "Million Dollar Baby," which is nominated for International Song of the Year. The jazz quintet Ezra Collective, known for their innovative sound, is up for Group of the Year, competing against established acts like Coldplay and The Cure. Additionally, alternative pop artist Rachel Chinouriri, beloved by A-listers like Adele, has earned two nominations for Artist of the Year and Best New Artist. These breakout artists are making their mark on the music scene ahead of the awards.
