Thief was ‘stressed’ trying to sell gold from Blenheim Palace toilet, jury hears

It is believed the stolen golden toilet was broken up and sold in Birmingham for £520,000 less than two weeks after the raid, jurors heard.

James Sheen admitted to stealing a gold toilet from Blenheim Palace and texted an associate, Frederick Doe, about being "stressed to death" trying to sell it. Doe is accused of helping Sheen sell the gold, which was potentially broken up and sold in Birmingham for £520,000 less than two weeks after the theft. Doe claims he was unaware the gold was stolen.
