Thousands of now-private GitHub repositories, including those from major companies like Microsoft, remain accessible via Microsoft's Copilot due to cached data. Lasso, a cybersecurity firm, discovered that over 20,000 such repositories, now private, still have their contents retrievable through Copilot, exposing sensitive corporate data, intellectual property, and access keys. Even after Microsoft temporarily disabled caching, Copilot retained access to some data, highlighting ongoing risks.
