Toronto getting new direct flight to sprawling metropolis where Europe meets Asia

Looking to take a Turkish getaway? Air Transat's new route just made your next vacation a whole lot easier. The airline is launching a new non-stop route between Toronto and Istanbul, which will cut down travel time and offer a direct way to get to Türkiye's most tourist-filled city. The new service, the first of its kind for Air Transat, will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, between Toronto and Istanbul. This announcement also signifies the route as Air Transat's longest ever crossing, spanning approximately 5,077 miles, surpassing its direct flights from Toronto to Athens. Istanbul has been visa-free for Canadians since 2024.
