Tropical Cyclone Alfred is approaching the Queensland coast, with a potential landfall near Brisbane later this week. Over four million residents from Bundaberg to the Gold Coast are warned of possible severe impacts, including strong winds, flash flooding, coastal erosion, and heavy rainfall. The cyclone, currently about 500km east of Rockhampton, could bring destructive winds and significant rainfall if it makes landfall as a category two system. Authorities have urged caution, noting the rare possibility of the cyclone affecting areas south of the tropics.
