Trudeau officially no longer prime minister as Carney set to be sworn in

The new crop of ministers is expected to be smaller than the current 37 members

Mark Carney was sworn in as Prime Minister of Canada on March 14th after Justin Trudeau resigned. Carney, elected Liberal Party leader, formed a smaller, 24-member cabinet, prioritizing trade and fiscal responsibility. The cabinet includes familiar faces, with a few new additions, amid an ongoing trade war with the U.S. and an upcoming election. Key ministers retain their portfolios while some roles shift and eight former ministers, including Trudeau, will not seek re-election. Carney plans to meet with leaders in the UK and France.
