The number fell from over 47,000 to 29,116. The San Diego Sector saw a 74% decrease, while the Rio Grande Valley Sector ranked second. The Tucson Sector experienced a 91% drop. February encounters averaged 328 per day, potentially reaching a record low of 9,200, the lowest since FY2000.
