Tunisie : 90% des détenus dans des affaires de chèques sans provision ont été libérés

In Tunisia, 90% of individuals detained for issuing bounced checks have been released under a new amnesty initiative. This initiative targets cases involving checks not exceeding 5,000 Tunisian dinars, aiming to alleviate judicial pressure. Despite the amnesty, victims retain the right to recover their dues. Recent data reveals 400,000 bounced checks over the past years, with 24 million checks issued annually, leading to approximately 120,000 court cases yearly. The initiative seeks to manage the surge in such cases.
