On March 24, 2025, President Tinubu inaugurated N2.1 billion in TETFund projects at the University of Calabar (Unical) during its 50th-anniversary celebration. Projects included a Hall of Fame Complex, Engineering workshop, Pharmacy Administrative Block, Fire Service station, and Faculty of Education building. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, received an honorary degree from Unical and stated the university had written his name in its golden records.
