University of Waterloo stabbing was hate crime, not terrorism: judge

Geovanny Villalba-Aleman was sentenced to 11 years in prison for a stabbing in a University of Waterloo gender studies class. The judge ruled the attack was a hate crime against the LGBTQ2+ community, not terrorism, as his hatred did not meet the legal threshold of a crystallized ideology.
