Food safety watchdogs have stuck a 'do not eat' alert out for 18 cheeses produced by JOD Food Products - some of which are stocked in Tesco and Spar.
The Food Safety Authority has recalled 18 cheeses, including various Cheddars, produced by JOD Food Products and sold at Tesco and Spar, due to potential contamination with listeria monocytogenes. The affected cheeses include flavors like Old Irish Creamery with Chilli and Horgan's Irish Smoked Cheddar. Listeriosis, caused by consuming contaminated food, can lead to symptoms such as fever, muscle aches, and nausea. The FSA has issued 'do not eat' alerts and instructed retailers to display warning notices.
