U.S. Consulate helps create economic opportunities for 120 emerging technicians

The Consulate General of Lagos has partnered with Field of Skills and Dreams VTE Academy to launch the Emerging Technicians Conference, an initiative aimed at equipping 120 young Nigerian technicians with essential skills and knowledge to excel in their trades and establish sustainable businesses. The program, which includes a six-month mentorship, focuses on technical fields such as plumbing, electrical work, automobile mechanics, HVAC, solar systems design, and data science. Participants received training in entrepreneurship, business management, marketing, and accounting, as well as networking opportunities with industry professionals. The initiative aligns with the Consulate's commitment to fostering economic resilience and supporting small businesses in Nigeria.
