US factories are likely to suffer from President Trump's planned 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, potentially raising costs for industries like automakers, construction, and beverage makers. These tariffs, a revival of Trump's earlier policies, primarily target allies like Canada, Mexico, Japan, and South Korea, and aim to protect US steelmakers under the premise of national security. Unlike the first iteration, exemptions and import quotas will not be put in place.
