Venues across Toronto to host series of free concerts starting this week

Lunch time in Toronto is about to get a bit more lively thanks to a series of free noon-hour concerts to be held at a trio of downtown venues over the coming weeks.TO Live's Sound Break is a new series of free concerts being held at Meridian Arts Centre, Meridian Hall, and St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, starting this week and running through the end of the year.These free performances, which will be held at 12 p.m. every Thursday from Oct. 23 to Dec. 18, will feature a diverse line-up of local performers including Indigenous talent, poets, and lauded musicians playing various genres covering everything from hip-hop, jazz, indie pop and everything in between.The full schedule is as follows:Oct. 23: THE Chmst (hip-hop/jazz) at Meridian Arts Centre, lower main lobbyOct. 30: Ley Vara (pop/R&B) at St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, Bluma Appel Theatre lobbyNov. 6: The Horah Machine (klezmer) at Meridian Arts Centre, lower m...
