Negotiations between Ver.di and employers for 2.5 million public sector employees continue after running through the night. No interim result is expected before this morning. The employers, represented by the Federal Ministry of the Interior and the VKA, deem the union's initial demand for 8% more pay, costing municipalities €15 billion annually, unaffordable. A failure of negotiations, potentially leading to strikes, remains possible.
