Vers un bâillon pour imposer le site d’enfouissement de Stablex à Blainville?

Québec serait sur le point de mettre en œuvre la procédure pour forcer l’adoption du projet de loi cette semaine.

Québec solidaire suspects the CAQ government intends to use a "bâillon" (gag order) to pass Bill 93, forcing Blainville to cede land to Stablex for a new hazardous waste landfill, despite municipal opposition and environmental concerns, including the destruction of habitats for threatened species. The government argues it needs to act quickly, before April 15, due to regulations protecting migratory birds, but municipalities dispute the urgency and propose alternative solutions. The bill would allow Stablex to continue landfill operations until 2065 and block legal actions until mid-April. The site is described by the government as "industrial land," but an environmental study reveals it contains significant wetlands.
