The sanctions come ahead of Sir Keir Starmer's meeting with Donald Trump, where Trump criticized the UK and France for inaction. Sir Keir also discussed the situation with Emmanuel Macron, promising support for Ukraine. Notably, the UK has excluded Ukraine from peace talks, despite European calls for Zelensky's involvement.
