Woman accused in child’s drowning at Wabamun Lake opts to be tried by judge

Mary Quinn, the Edmonton woman accused of manslaughter in the drowning death of a five-year-old girl in Parkland County, has opted to be tried by a judge alone.



Mary Quinn, an Edmonton woman, is accused of manslaughter and failing to provide the necessaries of life in the October drowning death of a five-year-old girl at Wabamun Lake. Quinn, who was supposed to be under house arrest, will be tried by a judge alone. RCMP initially reported a canoe capsizing, but later determined the drowning was criminal.
