Women’s tennis players now eligible for paid maternity leave funded by Saudi Arabia’s PIF
The WTA, with funding from Saudi Arabia's PIF, is providing paid maternity leave for women's tennis players, including 12 months for birth mothers and two months for parents via surrogacy, adoption, or partner pregnancy. The program, retroactive to January, also includes fertility treatment grants. This initiative, benefiting over 300 players, aims to support mothers on tour and encourage players to have children without financial concerns. The WTA highlights this as a historic step in women's sports, enabling independent athletes to access comprehensive maternity benefits.
