Toronto park could be transformed with cafe and relocation of popular landmark
Toronto's Queen's Park North might soon undergo a major revitalization, which could add a cafe and kiosk and relocate its recognizable equestrian statue. The public green space, which is located just north of the Ontario Parliament Building, is now in the second phase of community engagement for its redesign, which could see new features added to the historic park. As part of the project, a City survey, which is open until Dec. 14, is seeking feedback on design concepts, park amenities, and programming. The park's potential revitalization follows an offer from the wealthy Weston family in late 2024 to donate $50 million toward park improvements. One key proposal is the relocation of the equestrian statue of King Edward VII, which is part of Toronto's public art collection.
