World Boxing expects to decide on new gender eligibility rules within two to three weeks following a controversy at the Paris Olympics. The investigation was sparked by the participation of Algerian gold medalist Imane Khelif and Taiwan's Lin Yu-ting, both of whom are at the center of gender eligibility arguments. Neither boxer has applied for the upcoming World Boxing Cup. Khelif denied being transgender in response to a false claim by Donald Trump and voiced her determination to compete in LA. World Boxing is working with medical experts to update its policy and determine boxer eligibility for competitions.
