The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that at least 50 people have died in the northwest region of the Democratic Republic of Congo due to a virus linked to a child who consumed bat meat. The virus is believed to spread from bats to humans, similar to COVID-19. The child, who ate bat meat, died within 48 hours, exhibiting symptoms of hemorrhagic fever.
