3 Bulgarians convicted of spying for Russia across Europe from base in UK

Three Bulgarian nationals have been convicted by a London jury of spying for Russia

Three Bulgarian nationals were convicted in London of spying for Russia on an industrial scale. Based in the UK, they conducted surveillance across Europe between 2020 and 2023, targeting Ukrainian troops and Bellingcat journalist Christo Grozev. They plotted to kidnap or kill Grozev and attempted a 'honeytrap' scheme. A sixth man, Ivan Stoyanov, also admitted to spying, with connections to Russian agent Jan Marsalek.
