Another cat food brand recalled amid possible bird flu contamination fears

It is the third time in three months that a pet food brand has issued a recall over bird flu concerns

Savage Pet's raw chicken cat food has been recalled in the US due to potential bird flu (H5N1) contamination, marking the third such recall in three months. The FDA issued the warning after a kitten contracted avian flu from the product and another cat became sick, though recovered. Symptoms in cats include burning eyes, breathing difficulty, tremors, seizures, and blindness. Humans handling the recalled food should watch for symptoms like conjunctivitis, cough, and fever. This is the second cat food brand recalled in the US over bird flu fears this month, following recalls from Wild Coast Raw and Northwest Naturals in February and December, respectively.
