An Antarctic researcher at South Africa's Sanae IV base accused a colleague of physical assault and a death threat, citing safety concerns for themselves and others. South Africa's environment minister confirmed the assault, stemming from a work dispute, and is considering options. The 10-person team is isolated until December. Concerns about the alleged attacker were raised before the resupply ship departed. This is not the first violent incident involving South African Antarctic research teams.
