They can be used to attack enemy vehicles, boats and drones.
A UK £1.6 billion (€2 billion) deal will see a Belfast factory manufacture 5,000 air defence missiles for Ukraine, creating 200 jobs. The missiles, produced at the Thales plant, can travel at 1.5 times the speed of sound and hit targets over 6km away. Ireland is also planning a €100 million non-lethal military aid package for Ukraine and considering amending the "triple lock" on overseas Defence Forces deployments.
